The interesting phrase “The northern European tradition of work, play and food right through the day, made it impossible for them to adjust themselves wholly to his new rhythm.” That I read in a book long ago really speaks to me here. I mean we are all from northern Europe, and it’s kind of hard to get used to do things at night. When Ralph scheduled that night time meeting I am sure the little ones were not looking forward to it. Back home with auntie I worked hard at school, ate dinner, and had the rest of the day to play. Then when darkness came I wouldn’t do anything other than listen to the radio and sleep. I should try to get used to night meetings and jobs because I am thinking this isn’t the last. The one thing I wish I had was my lip balm because the sun is killing my lips.
Those blatant little ones, I don’t like them. All they cause is problems. I mean if they actually got stuff done then fine but they never really do anything of great importance. I think I would be better off without them. Today when I was being made fun of by jack those little ones just laughed at me and on top of that one glass in my specs was broken. It’s all just hell for me.
I think it’s crazy that jack enjoys painting his face so much. Come to think of it I think it’s crazy that jack’s hunter enjoy it so much too. They become different people. I think that’s why they like it, they could never see them self doing stuff like this. They surrounded a pig like vicious sharks then beat it to death malevolently. These good school boys feel like other people because they don’t recognize themselves in face paint, it’s almost like a mask. When these boys have this face mask they seem full of belligerence. to tell you the truth i was kind of feeling sick from all the gouts of blood.
That bloody ship didn’t see us. I can’t believe it. They could have looked through a telescope; with the fire out I think they could have seen little black dots running around. Jack is so stupid; he actually thought it would be a good idea to leave the fire unattended. And that unattended fire burned out and didn’t create smoke for the ship to see. It’s all just another reason to hate jack. Oh and guess what when this fire went out we had to make a new one, for me that means getting knocked over and feeling powerless. Over all things on this island that I don’t like will only escalate. In the end I just wish I can make it off this island.
