Chapter 6 - Beast from air
"What a joke"
Perspective: Jack
Perspective: Jack
I heard that Ralph cried out “If only they could get a message to us…if only they could send us something grown up….a sign or something,” when I first heard this I lost myself with interminable sniggers. I just couldn’t stop. I mean tough leader Ralph wanting help from a grown up. What a loser, it’s another reason why I should have been leader. But I think it’s too late for that. Everyone has already become used to Ralph.
(If jack somehow found out that the dead man was there this is how the questions, what sign comes down from the grown up world? and Why aren’t the boys aware of it? Would be answered.)
When Ralph asked for a sigh from a grownup I didn’t think he wanted this. That dead man, what a shocker. I came across it when on a hunting run. I think I may wait till the group finds him to take his stuff but geez can you imagine what that guy is carrying. A knife, a gun, a compass, what a help those things would be. The others don’t know about this just because we haven’t had the time to fully explor the island as a group.
Geez Sam and Eric, they claim they saw the beastie and it chased them. They said it had wings and claws. I think they also mentioned teeth. Okay now I am kind of confused. First, it was a creature with leviathan like features and now something that fly’s. They were so scared, like they stared hell straight in the face. Personally I think they are only imaging things. When they were up there all they had for light was the fire. Then they got spooked by the complete silence. Then, they became embroiled. Then their mind started to make things up. They probably just saw a tree and imagined the rest. And for the beastie almost grabbing one of them, they probably hit each other while flailing their arms when they were running away. Personally I don’t think there is a beastie. It may just be a big overgrown animal. Going to explore the one part of the island we haven’t yet was a good idea. Now we can feel a bit safer knowing that we have been to almost every part of this island and know about its landscape. I almost was certain that we wouldn’t find the beastie there. I know this because there is no beastie! And what Simon started talking about at the meeting. It made no sense at all, totally meaningless. He was going off on something about how we are the beastie. It made no sense to me. The beast that most of the boys believe in is an act of pure fiction. As I said before if anything it’s probably an overgrown animal. And if it is we will just, cut her thought! And bash her in!
Rescue, when we dropped on this island all we wanted to do was go home. Now that we have established a balanced life I want to stay here forever. I could grow stronger and become a full time hunter. And the little ones would grow up. We would have a good life. And of course eventually I would become leader. It would be fun. Here we are free from grownups and lists of rules. The only thing I don’t like here is the masses of guano. I would change that, but everything else is perfect.

Looks great, I love how you used the vocabulary words well, and you had great detail. You did a great job of being your character, i would know it was Jack even if it didn't say it anywhere.
