Lord of the Flies
Chapter 7- shadows and tall trees
"Savages"
Perspective: Simon
I can't believe it, just when I thought Ralph would keep the group good and prevent them from Turning evil. He actually joined in on Jacks sick game. When I glanced over at him before I headed down the mountain I saw a demonic glare in his eye. Jack is changes people, and Ralph may become proof of that. I fear Robert my become driven by pain to get revenge. I can't believe they are wanting to make that sick game a ritual. They speak of drums and fire. Jack suggested that they use a little one for the pig in the ritual. If this were to happen, people would probably be stabed and poked weekly. Eventually the stabbed would rebel and over through the older ones. If the little ones were to unite we would truly have chaos. We need the little ones to have trust in us, who knows they may find maturity on this island and actually get stuff done. Plus stabbing people as a game will give them the wrong idea of what's good and bad. At this point I fear this game may become more corrupting and dangerous than a game intense game of rugger. We need to taboo the game before we lose all sense of sanity.
The beast is still not real. If the beast was real we would find foot prints, I don’t care if it can fly. It has to touch the ground and rest. Also, if it were real we would find left over animal carcasses from its meals. Truly I think that the beast is imaginary. If anything it’s a figment of our imagination. The beast is every single one of us; we represent its evil qualities. For anything to change someone needs to be bravado and say that they’re all crazy. I think piggy has to act sagely and be dead serious, and then jack may give some him respect. That crazy thing is last night's events have no proof that the the beastie was actually there, because there is NONE! All they saw was shadows. They didn’t even care to chuck a spear at it. I think they just want to prove that they are the strongest on the island. I mean really they are so power hungry that they would quickly jump to conclusions. If they ever saw the beastie (if there was one) then they would learn that it wants no trouble and they wouldn’t car about it. If you think about it the beast never came to us out of evil and violence. We only stumbled over it as we went about daily life, and they think it’s the most evil horrid thing ever.

IT IS INTIRELY A STUPID GAME THAT THEY ALL FOOL THEM SELF IN TO PLAYING.
